Orum alternative: a script-first power dialer for agencies and small teams

Short answer: Orum and BeastCaller are built for different teams. Orum is an AI parallel dialer for B2B sales development teams: it dials up to five lines at once and connects the rep to the first person who answers. BeastCaller is a single-line power dialer for agencies and calling teams of 3–30: it dials one lead at a time on your own Twilio account and puts your script on every rep's screen as a branching Call Flow.

14-day free trial · No credit card required

  • Orum is sold by quote, "based on package type and number of users", with a minimum of 9 seats and a free trial limited to 500 dials.
  • BeastCaller publishes its prices: $19 a month for one caller, $49 for 3 and $99 for 10. Twilio bills your calling minutes directly.

Choose Orum if your SDR team has nine or more reps, works in Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach or Salesloft, and calls lists where most dials go unanswered. Choose BeastCaller if you run an agency or a smaller team that needs every caller on the same script, with prices you can see before you talk to anyone.

One line or five: the choice behind the comparison

Orum's pitch is volume. It rings up to five numbers at once, its AI works out who picked up, handles voicemails and call screeners, and bridges the rep in when a real person answers (Orum quotes a median connect time of 0.7 seconds). For SDRs calling mobile numbers from a data provider, where most dials go unanswered, that can mean much more of the day spent talking instead of listening to rings.

The trade-offs are the other side of the same design:

  • The prospect answers before the rep is on the line. A good parallel dialer keeps that gap short, but it's there on every call.
  • Two people can answer at once. Only one can be connected. In the US, the FCC's rules count a telemarketing call as abandoned when no rep is connected within two seconds of the person's greeting, and cap abandoned calls at 3% per campaign over 30 days.
  • It's priced for sales teams at scale. A nine-seat minimum and a quote-based price.

A power dialer takes the opposite trade. BeastCaller dials one number per rep, so the rep is already on the line when the prospect answers, and every answered call gets the full script. That matters most when your callers are new, when you call business lines where a receptionist picks up first, and when you call on a client's behalf, because every hello is the client's first impression. Our guide to power, progressive, predictive and parallel dialers goes through the options in more detail.

Where Orum is better

An honest list. If most of these matter to you, Orum is probably the better choice.

  • More conversations per hour on lists that rarely connect, thanks to parallel dialing on up to five lines and AI answer detection.
  • Voicemail handled for you. When the AI hears a voicemail or a call screener, it leaves a pre-recorded message and dials on.
  • Deep integrations with Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, Salesloft, Apollo and Gong.
  • Live coaching tools. Live Listen, and a virtual Salesfloor with rooms, spotlighting, screen sharing and chat.
  • AI extras, such as call summaries and data enrichment, plus an AI Coaching add-on with roleplay agents and scorecards.
  • International calling without a carrier account: Orum calls the US, Canada and 160+ other countries.

Pre-recorded audio in calls is regulated in many markets (e.g. US TCPA/TSR, UK PECR, Germany UWG). Only use it where you have the required consent.

Where BeastCaller is different

  • Prices you can see, from one caller. $19 a month for one caller, $49 for 3 and $99 for 10, with no seat minimum and no sales call. See pricing.
  • Your Twilio account, your numbers. Twilio bills minutes at its own rates, and the numbers stay yours if you ever leave. How the Twilio setup works.
  • The script is the product. Your best talk track becomes a Call Flow: phases for the stages of the call, Live Cards for every line, triggers that say when to use each card, and Logic Splits for the prospect's answers. Change a card once and every rep gets it. How Call Flows work.
  • Built for agencies. One campaign per client, each with its own leads, Call Flow, call outcomes and Quick Actions, and Agents only see the campaigns you assign them. See cold calling software for agencies.
  • Every pickup reaches a rep who's already on the line. Beast Mode moves to the next lead after each call outcome is logged and tries a lead's other numbers (up to three) before it moves on.

Which one fits your team

  • Orum: a sales development team of nine or more reps, selling B2B, living in a CRM or sales engagement tool, calling large lists with low connect rates, and ready for a quote-based contract.
  • BeastCaller: an agency or calling team of 3–30 callers who work from shared scripts, often for several clients, and want self-serve prices on their own Twilio account. See cold calling software for teams.
  • Neither: high-volume consumer campaigns that need predictive dialing belong on call-center platforms built for it, with the consent those campaigns require.

Moving a team from Orum to BeastCaller

  1. Start the trial. 14 days, no credit card.
  2. Connect Twilio with the guided setup and buy local numbers in your Twilio console.
  3. Export your call lists from your CRM to CSV and import them into campaigns, or push leads in through the API.
  4. Write the talk track down as a Call Flow. Start from our SaaS cold call script and the objection handling script.
  5. Keep your CRM as the system of record. Add Quick Actions that send booked meetings to it by webhook, for example through Zapier or Make.
  6. Compare a week of calls before you change anything else.

Frequently asked questions

  • How much does Orum cost?

Orum doesn't publish prices. Its pricing page says the price depends on the package and the number of users, lists a minimum of 9 seats, and limits the free trial to 500 dials. BeastCaller's prices are on the pricing page.

  • Can a team of three use Orum?

Orum's pricing page lists a 9-seat minimum. BeastCaller works from a single caller up.

  • Is BeastCaller a parallel dialer?

No. BeastCaller dials one line at a time. If parallel dialing is what you need, Orum and other parallel dialers are the better fit.

  • Does BeastCaller integrate with Salesforce or HubSpot?

Not natively. Quick Actions send a lead to Zapier, Make or any other webhook with one click, and the REST API pushes leads in.

  • Does BeastCaller detect voicemail or use AI?

No. There's no AI and no answering-machine detection: the rep hears every pickup and leaves voicemails live.

  • Is parallel dialing legal?

Parallel dialing is legal in many markets, with rules. In the US, the FCC limits abandoned telemarketing calls to 3% per campaign over 30 days, and pre-recorded messages need consent in many cases. Check the rules for the markets you call; this is general information, not legal advice. More in our dialer comparison.
